Made history.
The World Figure Skating Championships opened today (Friday) in the best possible way for the Israeli delegation, as the Olympic duet, Shelly Bobricki and Eden Belcher, qualified for the final of the technical exercise.
The two went up to appear among the first, earning a great score of 84.0556 points and holding their fingers to themselves, to see if their final ranking would be enough for the final.
Happily they finished in tenth place and were among the top 12 to advance to the finals to be held on Sunday.
To date, Israel has qualified for the finals in the solo exercises (all signed by Anastasia Glushkov) and in the group exercises (all of the team in 2019), but in the duet the record achievement so far was Glushkov's 15th place and is not beautiful in Barcelona 2003.
In addition to Bobricki and Belcher, the team in the championship also includes Polina Prikczykova, Maya Dorf, Ariel Nasi, Nicole Nachshonov, Noy Gazla, Katie Kunin, Neta Rubicek and Shani Sharizin.
