BC Attaching starts the mission to stay in the district league against series champions VSST Günzlhofen

After ten years, the BC Attaching returns to the district league.

At the start of the season, the Mehmedovic team has to deal with co-promoted Günzlhofen.

– The newly promoted BC Attaching felt the difference between the regional and district leagues on the first day of the game – even before kick-off.

When the BCA starts its relegation project at VSST Günzlhofen on Sunday at 3 p.m., it will have taken almost an hour to get there.

That would have been a record last season.

The Attachingers need to shake off the car ride quickly, because the higher the league, the greater the consequences of mistakes.

Anyone looking for clubs with "VSST" in their name on the "transfermarkt.de" website will find exactly one entry: VSST Günzlhofen-Oberschweinbach eV.

The club from the municipality of Oberschweinbach in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck is a rarity with its abbreviation for "Club for Games, Sports and Dance" - but they can also kick at the VSST.

As a climber, Günzlhofen stormed through the district league and was first again a year after the district class championship.

For Enes Mehmedovic, coach of BC Attaching, it's no big surprise: "They have some in their ranks who have played at a higher level." Player-coach Qemajl Beqiri and Michael Zach played in the Bayernliga, his brother Qendrim even in the regional league.

The newcomer has quality, especially in midfield, but not everything went according to plan in preparation.

Günzlhofen botched the dress rehearsal before the first district league appearance in the club's history: they lost 4-1 to the district league team SV Günding - also because of the tense personnel situation.

However, the VSST does not have this exclusively, because the BC Attaching also has to do without important players at the start of the season.

Sebastian Aigner injured his knee in the test against Allershausen and has been on a break ever since.

Manuel Thalhammer missed the first three matchdays because of his vacation.

There are also players who are on the brink.

“There will always be a lack of people, especially at the beginning.

In September there will be seven players on vacation.

We have to get through this phase well,” says Mehmedovic.

The 40-year-old coach hopes that his experienced cracks will lead the district league debutants in the squad.

"It's great for our young players in particular to hold their own against very good players," Mehmedovic said happily.

He wouldn't mind if the mood was positive on Sunday evening after the premiere in Günzlhofen.

“But for that we have to improve our defence.

We conceded too many goals in preparation.

We need our strength back," said the coach.

If this succeeds, at least one point is possible for the BCA.
