The crowning glory of the European Athletics Championships: the German women's sprint relay raced to the gold medal in Munich. For Gina Lückenkemper it was the second title at this European Championship.

The German 4x100 meter relay won the European Championships in Munich.

The DLV quartet with Alexandra Burghardt, Lisa Mayer, Rebekka Haase and Gina Lückenkemper ran to gold, the favored Britons were eliminated early.
