The incidents that took place at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday evening during PSG-Maccabi Haifa did not escape UEFA.

As reported by L'Équipe, we confirm that the European body has informed the Parisian club that a disciplinary case has been opened against him.

In question, the behavior of Parisian and Israeli supporters during the Champions League match.

“The use of fireworks” as well as “provocative messages of an offensive nature” displayed in the stands of the Parc des Princes are the facts alleged by UEFA.

Dozens of smoke bombs were lit at the very start of the meeting by Maccabi Haifa fans.

The latter then fired several fireworks, resulting in the interruption of the game for a few moments by the referee.

If the Israeli supporters are at the origin of these actions, UEFA points the responsibility of the PSG, in charge of the security of the stadium.

A big fine

Regarding "the provocative messages of an offensive nature" put forward by UEFA, they refer to the Palestinian flags deployed in the Auteuil bend in the first then in the second half.

The Parisian club had however announced the ban on showing up at the stadium with a "flag of countries not represented at PSG".

The Collectif Ultras Paris then displayed the following banner “Gaza exists, Gaza resists, Free Palestine”.

The Parisian club risks a big fine and should not be penalized for a match behind closed doors.

The UEFA Disciplinary Committee had already condemned the capital club to pay a fine of more than 60,000 euros after, in particular, the use of smoke bombs during PSG-Juventus at the beginning of September.
