In all likelihood, the 9th stage should rally Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat (Haute-Vienne), the village of Raymond Poulidor, at the puy de Dôme, where the most famous non-winner of the event had disputed a duel that became legendary in 1964 against Jacques Anquetil.
