Scotty Wilbkin's visit to Israel attracted not only the attention of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans and the local media, but also that of the Europeans.

A Fenerbahçe player was interviewed yesterday (Wednesday) by "Basket News" live on Instagram, and among other things explained why he probably won't wear the yellow jersey again.

"They were quite excited," said Wilvkin about the meeting with the Maccabi fans.

"The truth is that I entered the hall from the wrong entrance, I didn't know I was supposed to enter through the players' entrance, so I made it through the crowd and straight into the group of burned fans. There was a mess, my wife was holding a glass of Coke and I was holding popcorn, and we tried not to spill them. We got stuck in everyone. I didn't know If they were surprised, because a few hours before that, we uploaded a picture from our favorite restaurant in Tel Aviv, so people knew I was there, they didn't know if I would actually come to the game. It was cool."

The guard who starred here for four seasons referred to the strange tweet that was published on Maccabi Tel Aviv's Twitter account about two weeks ago, ahead of the meeting with Fenerbahce, in which a comparison was made between Wade Baldwin's season opening data and those of Wilbkin - when until then there had only been one Euroleague game.

"My wife sent it to me, and my first reaction wasn't too crazy. I knew how much I scored in the first game and that Maccabi always makes this comparison before games."

"Then she showed me all the comments saying it was disrespectful, but I didn't take it that way," Wilvkin continued.

"It kind of took on a life of its own. I know everyone in Maccabi's media department, and the truth is they apologized to me, and I just told them they had nothing to worry about."

When asked about a possible return to Maccabi Tel Aviv, the player replied: "I would return, but I don't know if it will happen. I would say it is unlikely, because of the way things work in our profession and in life. Without going into too much detail, the issue of taxes for foreign players in Israel will make it difficult for me From a technical point of view. It's clear that I still love Maccabi, and I won't be rejected again, but I see myself in Fenerbahce for many years."
