Unlike last time, EC Peiting's home game is on Sunday this time.

A surprise team from Lower Bavaria is a guest.

On Friday we go to Lake Constance.

Peiting – home game always on Friday and always against a top team: That has been the constellation at EC Peiting since the start of the season at the beginning of October.

"All big chunks," says ECP coach Anton Saal to the difficult Oberliga opening program with SC Riessersee, the "Tölzer Löwen" and most recently the "Starbulls Rosenheim" as guests.

Therefore he is quite satisfied with the interim result of twelve points.

"They're worth something," says Saal.

The upcoming games are against teams that shouldn't be underestimated either, but don't have the "Top Team" label attached: Today, Friday (7.30 p.m.), the ECP will be a guest at the "Islanders" of EV Lindau, on Sunday (18 pm) the home game against the “Black Hawks” of the EHF Passau awaits.

On Sunday home game against the EHF Passau

Both teams turned their squad inside out in the summer, meaning they practically put a completely new squad on the ice.

In the case of the "Islanders" from Lindau, however, the upheaval with 19 newcomers was extreme.

"They changed the squad and got good people.

The expectations are correspondingly high,” says Saal about the Swabians.

In the six years that the "Islanders" played in the premier league, they were always in eighth to tenth place after the main round, which was not enough for those responsible.

That's why they became active in the transfer market.

The Lindauers mainly used the youngsters from Bietigheim-Bissingen and Augsburger EV.

There were also reinforcements from the "Ravensburg Towerstars" from the DEL2 - striker Vincenz Mayer belongs to this category.

Also new are the two foreigners, Canadian Skylar Pacheco in defense and Latvian Arturs Sevcenko in attack.

However, the many new players have obviously not yet grown into a team, because the hoped-for success has not yet materialized.

EV Lindau is still waiting for a winning streak

In eight games, the EVL only won once.

With that, the Lindauers are bobbing around in the bottom of the table again – currently in eleventh place.

"Nevertheless, we have to take our opponents seriously," Saal doesn't expect a stroll at the EVL.

What can happen if the ECP becomes careless was shown most recently in Landsberg, when the Peitingen team let the reins slip after leading 2-0 and suddenly found themselves 2-3 behind.

After all, there was a 7:4 win in the end.

"We need a concentrated performance over 60 minutes," demands Saal, in order to be able to start the journey home again with three points.

The people from Peiting should not underestimate the Passau team this season, who are two places ahead of the ECP in sixth place in the table.

"For me, the 'Black Hawks' are one of the surprise teams in the league," Saal praises the Lower Bavarians, who were at the bottom of the table in their first two seasons in the Oberliga.

This season, however, they seem to have had the right touch with their signings.

Passau brought 16 new players, including Canadian Carter Popoff and Czech Jakub Cizek.

"They play with a lot more speed now," Saal observed while studying the opponent's video.

"It won't be an easy task." Peitinger's record against Passau is positive: only one game was lost in six duels.

"We have already set our sights on a lot against Passau."

On Friday he has to do without Fabian Weyrich (professional reasons) and Sean Morgan, who is ill, is still missing.

Due to the gaps in defense, striker Lukas Gohlke will once again help out on the defensive.
