Manuel Neuer was out for seven games with a shoulder injury.
Now the Bayern keeper is talking about his comeback and the World Cup in Qatar.
Munich – It was tricky.
A painful bruise in the shoulder joint slowed Manuel Neuer down in mid-October.
During this time, the Bayern keeper missed seven competitive games and doubts grew: will Neuer fit in time for the World Cup in Qatar (November 20th to December 18th)?
Now the 36-year-old gives the answer himself. “I'm fine.
I did the first team training.
Everything was fine," said Neuer in a video that FC Bayern published on Twitter in the evening.
It looks good for the World Cup, of course.
If I can do everything with the team and can train and play, then nothing stands in the way of the World Cup."
Before the World Cup: Neuer accepts the residual risk
FC Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann had previously expressed optimism.
"Manu will come along and play again if things go well in the final training session," he said ahead of the Bundesliga away game at Hertha BSC on Saturday.
We waited so long until he was pain free again.
There is always some risk.
But the doctors gave the green light," added Nagelsmann.
Manuel Neuer probably accepts the remaining risk.
After all, he wants and needs to gain match practice before what will probably be his last world championship.
The Bavarian national coach Hansi Flick then immediately announced another good news: National player Leroy Sane is also ready for action after a muscle fiber tear.
According to Nagelsmann, Sane will be in the Bayern squad for Berlin, just like Lucas Hernandez, who has been injured for a long time.
However: Bayern and DFB star Thomas Müller is still out due to problems in the hip and pelvic area.
"He will take a break for the weekend and hopefully be able to get back into it during the week," said Nagelsmann.
Matthijs de Ligt (knee problems) is also still unavailable to Bayern.
But at least for Neuer the tricky time has come to an end.
