A narrow 4:3 win against Peißenberg and a 1:7 debacle against Königsbrunn.

Erding – The Erding Gladiators experienced a roller coaster ride last weekend.

Team boss Felix Schütz, who for the first time also criticized his predecessor Andy Becher, found clear words.

There was a great atmosphere in the VIP room of the Stadtwerke Erding Arena after Friday's win against Peißenberg.

When team boss Schütz came in, applause erupted.

He initially spoke of a "good ice hockey game" and praised the opponent.

"Peißenberg will definitely make the playoffs," he said.

"We want to play like Peißenberg, so that the old leaders go ahead."

But then the face of the Erdinger team boss, who had celebrated his 35th birthday the day before, darkened.

He "made an announcement in the dressing room so that some people would understand the seriousness of the situation," he complained, adding that it took him a long time to get grumpy.

"It's difficult to find a fair middle ground, and the question is: How tough can you be?" You have three training sessions a week.

"What can a player who only comes to training once a week expect?" asked Schütz.

As a coach you can't even do tactics.

"The minimum is to train twice," only then does it make sense.

You shouldn't look at the table, you have to try to get better and better every week.

"It's a long way," predicted the team boss, adding: "It's a bit of a roller coaster ride at the moment."

As if he had guessed.

Because two days later, after a strong first third and a 1-0 lead, things went down steeply, with seven goals conceded in the two following game sections, with no more goals of their own.

Koenigsbrunn's coach Robert "Bobby" Linke analyzed that Erding got into the game well and showed a strong first third.

"I hoped that we would calm down and take advantage of Erdinger's mistakes," which was successful.

"We then showed a super second third and I thought, more is not possible," said Linke.

"But then came the last third."

Overall, he agrees with his colleague, Schütz replied.

"But we have to go out 2-0 or 3-0 in the first third, and in the end it was 7-1 too high." You could tell that his boys had gotten tired, "and that they were struggling, two Play full throttle for a long time".

When asked if his team had a mental problem, the Erdinger gang boss replied: "If you play at the limit and are not fit, then you make wrong decisions." In the last few weeks he has had many individual discussions, especially with the experienced players.

They told him "that they hardly sweated in the preparation".

So it's no wonder "that the boys are exhausted after the hard training".

But you have to go through with it now.

He is still sticking to the goal of the playoffs, emphasized Schütz,
