2022-11-09T13:02:10.994Z

The next season, with an elite reduced to 18 clubs, will start on the weekend of August 12 and 13, 2023 and end on May 18, 2024.

As the 2022/2023 Ligue 1 prepares to go on hiatus for a month and a half next weekend with the World Cup in Qatar (20 November - 18 December), the outlines of the elite for 2023- 2024 are already known.

The Board of Directors of the LFP indeed adopted this Wednesday morning the general calendar of Ligue 1 for next season.

A season from which, let us remember, there will only be 18 clubs left in the hexagonal elite.

The first day will thus take place on the weekend of August 12 and 13, 2023 and the 34th and last on Saturday May 18, 2024. Only one day will be scheduled during the week, Wednesday December 20, 2023 (17th), just before the winter break.

The recovery will take place on the weekend of January 13 and 14, 2024.

The first dates for the 2023/2024 calendars of @Ligue1UberEats and @Ligue2BKT are known 🗓️

For its part, Ligue 2 will resume its rights on the weekend of August 5, 2023 and will end on Saturday May 18, 2024 during the 38th and last day.

The last day before the Christmas break will be played on Tuesday December 19, 2023. Like L1, L2 will then resume on the weekend of January 13 and 14, 2024.

To close the season, playoff 1 between the 4th and 5th in Ligue 2 will take place on Tuesday May 21, 2024 and the winner of this match will face the 3rd in Ligue 2 in a second playoff scheduled for Friday May 24, 2024.

The first leg of the Ligue 1 accession play-offs will take place on Thursday May 30, 2024, and the return match will take place on Sunday June 2, 2024. This double confrontation will pit the 16th in Ligue 1 against the winner of the Ligue 2 playoffs.

The entire 2023-2024 general competition calendar will be published on Thursday 10 November, following its final adoption by the FFF Executive Committee.
