The 2022 World Cup Organizing Committee entrusted the leadership of the opening match to Italian referee Daniele Orsato.
The committee stated that the Italian referee will lead the opening match of the World Cup, which brings together Qatar, the host of the tournament, with its counterpart, Ecuador, at 6:00 pm next Sunday at Al-Bayt Stadium.
The 46-year-old Italian veteran referee is one of the most prominent European referees in recent years, as he led many strong matches, whether in the Italian League or the Champions League.
The first group in the 2022 World Cup finals includes the teams of Qatar, the Netherlands, Senegal and Ecuador.
