The Judo Association decided to hold the Israel Judo Championship in Eilat, as part of a festival of the sport, which will be held in the southernmost city in Israel.

The festival, which will be held from January 17 in the "Ismaul" mall, with mattresses placed on the ice surface, will open with two days of unique training and workshops in the dedicated training complex under the guidance of professional staff, guest coaches and stars of the Israeli national teams.

At the same time, on Thursday, January 18, the Israel Senior Championship will be held from 9:30 am (preliminaries) until the finals, which will start at 5:30 pm.

The next day the Israel Championship for Teams will be held and the week will conclude with the Union Cup tournament.

As mentioned, this is the first time that Eilat will host the Israel Championship for seniors, when in recent years, the championship was held at the 'Metro West' sports hall in Ra'anana, while even before that, it was possible to see the championship also at Hadar Yosef in Tel Aviv and before that also at the municipal sports hall in Petah Tikva.

It should be remembered that in between the union is preparing for two major international events in Israel: during Hanukkah (December 20-22) the prestigious Masters will be held at the Arena in Jerusalem with the best athletes of the industry.

On February 17, the Grand Slam will be held at Hichal Shlomo in Tel Aviv.
