Poland's Hubert Hurkacz reached the third round of the Australian Open after defeating Italy's Lorenzo Sonego.

Hurkacz managed to settle the match in his favor, and defeated his opponent, Sonego, with three sets to two, with a score of 3-6, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in a marathon match that lasted three hours and 53 minutes.

Hurkacz will next face Canadian Denis Shapovalov in the first round of the first Grand Slam tournament.
