Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar met Wednesday with Israel's judo team, which returned from Doha, Qatar, at the Prime Minister's Office in the Knesset. The meeting was attended by world champion Inbar Lanir, bronze medalist Peter Palchik, Judo Association chairman Moshe Ponti and coach Oren Smadja.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "I stand between giants and victors. Good for you, it really is outstanding. What mental fortitude is needed for this, really well done to you. I'm not talking about the demands of the body, it's the demands of the mind, huge concentration. You know when you're down to go up, it's also in politics exactly the same.
You have made very good achievements, Judo has become a global branch of Israel. I am very proud of you, the people of Israel are very proud of you, you are doing great things both for sports and for the country."
