Grosjean's accident car puts Sainz in shock
Sainz was in Madrid at the "Formula 1 Exhibition" and took a look at the history of popular racing. Part of the exhibition was, among other things, the accident car of Romain Grosjean from Bahrain 2020. The sight of the remains made the Spaniard think.
"I'm shocked by Romain's crashed car. This is a sobering reminder of how dangerous our sport can be – despite all the safety measures," Speedweek.com quotes Sainz as saying. "The charred chassis also shows that we Formula 1 drivers put our lives on the line every time we get out of there," he added.

Grosjean narrowly escaped the flames
At the 2020 race in Bahrain, Romain Grosjean had a serious accident. The Frenchman raced at full speed into the track barrier and the car burst into flames. After a short time, he was able to free himself from the vehicle and escape the flames.
Miraculously, he suffered only burns to his hands. At the time of the accident, the Formula 1 world was at a standstill and the worst was expected. The independent liberation and the rapid rush of the security forces caused a sigh of relief. Today, Grosjean competes in the Indy Car Series. (jari)
