Johni Elan Hernández Cerrato, a relative of one of the victims of the 72 migrants who were massacred in a crime attributed to the Los Zetas criminal group, spoke with Aristegui about his memory of the tragedy. In the interview, Hernández Cerrato said it is very difficult to remember the episode and the murder of his sister. On August 24, 2010, the bodies of 72 migrants were found on a ranch in the municipality of San Fernando. The killed were 58 men and 14 women. All were migrants. The massacre was attributed by the government to the Los Zetas criminal group. According to Hernández Cerrato, when his sister was murdered, he was migrating in search of the American dream. Ana Lorena Delgadillo of the Foundation for Justice and the Democratic State of Law explained that so far there is no sentence for the murder of the 72 migrants. According to the Migrant Unit of the Attorney General's Office, there are 15 defendants, none with a final judgment. Following recommendation 80/2013, the National Commission of Human Rights (CDNH) ordered the Mexican State to repair the families of the victims for these events.
