The meetings of the Standing Committee for Planning and Budget in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly started in Baghdad today with the participation of a delegation from the People's Assembly headed by Ali Stof, member of the Council.
The Committee discusses several reports concerning the planning and follow-up of the Committee's work over the past and future periods.
Mohammad al-Halbousi, speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, stressed the importance of these meetings by laying down the necessary plans to develop the work of the Assembly, which includes parliaments and consultative councils of sixteen Asian countries.
Halbousi said: "Terrorism has not only targeted Iraq, but was targeting the region and the countries of the world without exception and our battle is not over yet we still have problems left behind by terrorism and need serious treatment." .
