The United States and its Western allies are trying to tighten their unilateral coercive economic measures on Syria to achieve what they have not been able to achieve by using terrorism against it, former Deputy Chairman of the Council of Russian Diplomats Andrei Baklanov said.
In an interview with a correspondent of SANA in Moscow, the Russian diplomat said that the workers in many international forums are very far from the Syrian reality and what is happening in Syria and they are under the influence of Western countries and conduct their programs.
Baklanov pointed out that the ruling circles in the United States, despite the aspirations of the American people, still practice a policy of hostility to Russia and all friendly peoples and refuses to even exchange parliamentary relations with us and work to neglect the Russian positions and obscure them.
In a similar interview, the senior researcher at the Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies at the Oriental Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Irina Fyodorova said that the main objective of Western policy towards Syria is to overthrow it because it pursues independent policies that serve the interests of its people and future, so the West tries by all means political, military, diplomatic and economic Besieged and harassed.
The Russian expert added that we see that countries, personalities and even companies trying to establish economic trade relations with Syria are subject to sanctions and include the list of US and Western sanctions to isolate and besiege Syria economically and prevent it from getting rid of the effects of the devastating terrorist war imposed on them, but the friends of the Syrian people, especially Russia, Iran and China Others have not been intimidated by Western sanctions to which they are accustomed and continue to cooperate with the Syrian government to rebuild the country and revive its economy.
Fyodorova stressed that the terrorist war on Syria was not the result of internal conditions, but was the biggest role of external players, led by the United States and many regional and Gulf countries in igniting and fueling this crisis.
