Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's declaration of annexation of Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank would be a "grave breach of international law," five European countries said today.
Reuters reported that the German Foreign Ministry said in a tweet on Twitter that France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom expressed serious concern about Netanyahu's announcement.
The EU warned two days ago that Netanyahu's announcement "undermines the chances for peace" in the region.
"The five countries will continue to call on all parties to refrain from any actions contrary to international law that threaten the possibility of implementing a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders and will make it more difficult to achieve a just and lasting peace."
