British Prime Minister's parliament closing "Illegal and invalid" Supreme Court, unanimous decision

The British Supreme Court decided that it would be legal for Prime Minister Johnson to close the British Parliament for about five weeks, as the UK's withdrawal from the European Union (EU) was approaching the end of October. On the first day, he indicated that the closing was illegal and invalid. Chairman Berkow, the member of the House of Representatives, who was elected in the election and is the subject of the withdrawal discussion, expressed his intention to resume the parliament on the morning of the 25th.

Justice Hale pointed out that “the parliament has the right to discuss how it will change” in the face of a fundamental constitutional change in the UK's withdrawal from the EU.
