[London 24th Reuters]-The British Supreme Court ruled on May 24 that it was illegal for Prime Minister Johnson to shut down the parliament for a long time.
Parliament is closed from 10 September to 14 October as the end of the European Union (EU) withdrawal date nears the end of October.
Supreme Court Justice Hale said, “The decision to promote the queen to close the parliament is illegal because it prevents the parliament from performing its functions as defined by the constitution.”
The illegal judgment was unanimous for all 11 judges.
