Hama-Sana
The Directorate of Agriculture of Hama has allocated an area of 4067 hectares for the cultivation of spring potato crop within its agricultural plan for the next season, including 3989 hectares for irrigated lands and 78 hectares for rainfed.
Bassam al-Nashar, head of the plant's production department, told SANA that potatoes are one of the farmers' favorite crops because of their relatively medium production cycle and good material return.He pointed out that all the production requirements of seeds, fertilizers and irrigation are available in addition to the suitability of the soil for this important crop.
The areas of spring potato cultivation are concentrated in the villages near Hama, in addition to the area of Mharda and the villages and towns of Khattab, Shiha, Tomin and Hamra.
