The Government of Ecuador has not reacted to Correa's new statements and CNN is trying to get a reaction with the presidency office.

On Monday night, Moreno in a message to the nation, signaled the former president to be behind a plan to destabilize his government.

“It is the corrupt who have felt the steps of justice closing them to respond, they are the ones behind this coup attempt and are using and instrumentalizing some indigenous sectors; taking advantage of their mobilization to loot and destroy in their path, ”said Moreno.

"There is no coup here, conflicts in democracy are resolved at the polls," Correa said, adding that they are calling for the elections, as allowed by the Constitution, in case of serious social upheaval.
