British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the Brexit agreement is a new way forward for Britain and the European Union, warning that any new postponement would be "meaningful, costly and destructive."
"An agreement on Brexit is a historic opportunity, although we had hoped for a better agreement for the UK and the EU together," Johnson told the House of Representatives on Tuesday, calling on MPs to gather the floor and adopt the deal.
Johnson needs a majority of 230 votes in the House of Commons to approve the agreement, which allows for the settlement of conditions for secession from the European Union.
Johnson announced that his country would withdraw from the European Union as scheduled on the 31 of this month if the House of Representatives rejected the new agreement to get out of the bloc announced last Thursday.
