A special meeting of taxes and fees in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in the presence of the unions of chambers of commerce, industry and tourism focused on correcting the imbalance and corruption in cases of tax evasion by senior taxpayers to collect the dues of the state and employ them in the overall economic and social development.

The meeting approved a plan of action for the next phase at the near, medium and strategic levels to develop the work of the General Authority for Taxes, Fees and Finance Directorates in the governorates. Level of culture and tax awareness among members.
It was decided to establish a central linking mechanism between the ministries of local administration, environment, internal trade, consumer protection, finance, commercial and industrial registry and the General Organization for Social Insurance, provided that each city council or administrative unit will prepare a database of commercial and industrial activities in its region.
It was stressed to develop a real work methodology and secure physical and information structures and efficient human cadres characterized by integrity and high responsibility and the provision of equipment and mechanisms and the requirements of the work of the directorates of finance in the provinces.
In the medium term, it was decided to amend the rules of procedure and legislation governing the work of the General Authority for Taxes and Fees and review the current Board of Directors to exercise its role in the formulation of strategies and evaluation of results and performance in addition to activating the work of the Advisory Board of the Commission.
At the strategic level, it was emphasized to continue the completion of the electronic payment system and the comprehensive automation of the data of the Authority and the directorates of finance and the preparation of a mechanism for classification of enterprises to be developed a mechanism to track the implementation of the plan according to specific time programs and define clear criteria for measuring performance.
