The Budget and Accounts Committee of the People's Assembly discussed today the investment budget of the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection and its affiliated bodies, amounting to 4 billion and 917 million and 850 thousand Syrian pounds.

Members of the committee stressed during the interventions the need to secure mobile cars belonging to the Syrian Trade Establishment to reach remote areas and popular neighborhoods, stressing the need to find a more effective mechanism to monitor markets and impose pricing and determine profit margins to reduce high prices and prevent monopoly.

He also called on members to monitor the prices of oils, which has seen a rise in recent times, stressing the need to pay attention to the quality of bread and the establishment of new ovens in the rural areas of the provinces.

For his part, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Dr. Atef Naddaf stressed that ration control has been intensified on the markets and continue to work to raise the production capacity of bakeries and mills and work to develop incentives for bakery workers, The effort and providing the requirements for the production of bread, pointing to the work to expand the centers of the Syrian Trade and the provision of mobile vending cars and processing mobile bakeries for emergencies in all regions.
