Protests calling for improved living conditions in a number of Lebanese areas renewed today amid the protesters' continued closure of roads and attempts by the Lebanese army and security forces to open them.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the protesters, who remained in the yards of sit-ins in Beirut, Sidon and Tripoli, since dawn today, cut off many roads inside Beirut and the Lebanese areas.
The traffic control room pointed out that the protesters blocked the roads from the Bekaa towards Beirut and the roads from south Lebanon towards the capital, especially the soft highway and the Khaldeh triangle. In Sidon and forcing its workers to leave.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese army and security forces continue to make efforts to open roads to pedestrians and cars.
Demonstrations and sit-ins have been taking place in several Lebanese areas since the 17th of last month in protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions.
