The mini-committee of the enlarged Constitutional Committee ends its meetings today at the United Nations building in Geneva with the participation of a delegation supported by the Syrian government and other delegations.
The UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pederson, is scheduled to hold a press conference later today to summarize the discussions during the five days of the mini-committee to discuss the constitution.
Over the past few days, the committee held several working sessions according to the agenda adopted and proposed by the Syrian-backed delegation, according to sources close to the UN.
The mini-committee consists of 45 members, 15 members of the delegation supported by the Syrian government, 15 members of the delegation of other parties and 15 members of the civil society delegation.
The expanded committee of the constitutional debate committee agreed last Friday to the members of the mini-committee and approved the paper of the code of conduct and procedures governing the work of the expanded and small bodies.
