Syria and the press during a century… Documentary exhibition in the cultural endosperm

More than a hundred newspapers documented a rich history of its events, including the documentary exhibition, which opened today in the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Sweida entitled (Syria and the press during a century).

The exhibition, prepared by journalist Riad Naim, includes old numbers of many newspapers and highlights according to Naim important milestones in the history of Syria and its national and national positions and its role in support of Arab national issues, especially the Palestinian issue with the light of the October liberation war and the victories achieved by Syria in its war on terrorism and its supporters.

While attending the opening of the exhibition, Assistant Minister of Information Ahmed Dawa affirmed the ministry's encouragement of this kind of exhibitions because of its importance in documenting the history of the country and transferring it to generations and access to it and the scientific significance of the document in studies and research and its role in reversing the experience of Syrians and their march in various fields.

The head of the branch of the Union of Journalists in the southern region, Rafik al-Kafiri, pointed out that the exhibition chronicles a period of Syrian history that lasted from 1923 to the present through a series of newspapers and documented these historical stations with all its events, confirming the importance of the written press as a historical and media document characterized by its sustainability.

Many visitors considered that the exhibition is a station that can be used to communicate between the past, present and future and is a documentary archive for that stage in all its contents.

The opening of the week-long exhibition was attended by the President of the Governorate of As-Suwayda and official, partisan, intellectual, media and trade union events.
