Iran's Revolutionary Guards have vowed to deal firmly with any acts of disorder that disturb the security of the people if necessary.

The Revolutionary Guards said in a statement that maintaining the security of the country and the tranquility and stability of society is a legitimate and legal duty in cooperation with the rest of the armed forces and security, stressing that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will deal firmly with the continuation of any acts of chaos and acts against the security of the people.

The statement pointed to recent events following the implementation of the plan to rationalize fuel consumption, which was exploited by villains and anti-elements and riding a wave of popular protests and receiving support from US officials.

The statement noted the awareness of the Iranian people in revealing the enemy plan and separating its demands and the ranks of its protest from the rioters and chaos, stressing the importance of unity, solidarity and determination of all authorities to meet legitimate popular demands.

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani yesterday confirmed the involvement of groups of the so-called "People's Mujahedeen Organization" and the enemies of the revolution riots in Iranian cities recently.
