Tehran-Sana
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran will respond firmly to any country found to be involved in meddling in Iran's affairs and its links to recent riots, its first vice president said on Sunday.
"Failing to subdue Iran through the economic war, the Americans have changed their approach and sought to exert pressure on it through interventions in its affairs and with the support of some countries in the region," Jahangiri told the Fars news agency.
Jahangiri pointed out that any country found to be interfering in Iran's internal affairs to harm the Iranian people would certainly receive a firm response.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani recently confirmed the involvement of groups of the so-called "People's Mujahedeen Organization" and the enemies of the revolution in the riots in Iranian cities recently.
