Many government measures have been taken to promote the marketing of citrus crops and support its farmers in Tartous, including the provision of free transportation within the province in addition to the sale of the crop through the Syrian trade through mobile cars to the benefit of farmers.
During a briefing on the reality of citrus marketing in the cardamom markets of Tartous, sorting and packaging centers, and farms that produce citrus and some Syrian trade centers in the city, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Dr. Atef Al-Naddaf told reporters that the measures taken are integrated between the government and civil society to market citrus production in two strategic directions. He pointed out that transport was provided completely free of charge to provide transport of the crop within the province through the formed committees, which coordinate the process of transport to the market and the other governorates in addition to the intervention of the Syrian A neighbor by sending mobile cars to sell citrus and thus end the process of the broker.
The meeting was attended by the governor of Tartous, Safwan Abu Sa'ada, the secretary of the Tartous branch of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, Dr. Mohammed Hussein, and the director general of the Syrian Trade Ahmed Najm.
