(CNN Spanish) - The prosecution of Bolivia announced Friday that it will investigate Evo Morales for the crimes of terrorism and sedition, according to a statement from the prosecution itself.
The announcement comes days after the Bolivian government presented a video of a telephone conversation between allegedly a union leader and former president Morales in which it is discussed to continue the blockades and prevent the entry of food in different parts of the country.
Said video, according to the prosecutor's office, will be sent to experts in Argentina so that "there is expert veracity that the voices heard in the audio correspond to those investigated."
"The Departmental Prosecutor's Office of La Paz was instructed to assume all the legal actions necessary for the prosecution or prosecution of him or the alleged perpetrators, in a direct, mediate or instigating capacity and other participants, for the crimes of Terrorism and Sedition," he says. the text.
"The Foreign Ministry is also being requested by official notice to inform the Mexican authorities of the beginning of the investigation," he adds.
On Friday, the government filed a criminal complaint with the Bolivian prosecutor's office against Morales for terrorism and sedition.
For his part, former President Evo Morales said the video is a montage with the intention of making an international political trial.
