The Iranian Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced the arrest of 20 “key rioters in different parts of Tehran province who were carrying out foreign agendas”.
The commander of the internal security forces in the province of Tehran, Brigadier General Keumarth Azizi said in a statement today that 20 people were arrested leaders of chaos and key elements of the troubles in eastern Tehran in the recent period, during complex intelligence operations.
A number of other rioters were also arrested in eastern Tehran, indicating that the Iranian police have put on their agenda the continued arrest of the main security and destabilizing elements of the recent unrest.
In a related context, the prosecutor in Malard district west of Tehran arrested a number of key elements and leaders of unrest and riots, pointing out that the attackers who caused the death of police officers are still under legal prosecution.
The prosecutor asserted that the rioters were carrying out foreign agendas and that their slogans and criminal practices were not related to raising fuel prices or high prices.
