The polls are only the second largest party, but most of the attention is now directed to the Likud-led primaries. The possibility that Netanyahu will be defeated, or at least embarrassed, has succeeded in igniting the resemblance to many in the political system that have long wished for this day.

Discussions on the issue also reached the top of the blue and white tier this week. In various discussions that took place on the subject, the need arose as much as possible for Gideon Sa'ar's candidacy. The election of the Likud leader will open up new horizons for Gantz members who have been blocked for as long as Netanyahu is there. Gantz never said he would not sit with the Likud, quite the opposite. The disqualification is that of Netanyahu personally, the one that prevented the unity government. If Saar were there, a government would be formed within a few days and Gantz would have fulfilled his dream of becoming prime minister.

During those talks, it was estimated that blue-white in front of the Likud-led Likud would have a significantly higher mandate. Which will ensure that the rotation agreement states that Gantz is the first prime minister. What's more, there doesn't have to be a rotation. Netanyahu has created a bloc bloc with the right-wing factions and ultra-Orthodox parties. Much of this bloc was based on the personal commitment of the party leaders to Netanyahu. It is not certain that a storm will succeed in establishing such a bloc, with such loyalty, that the possibility of forming a government may be easier for Gantz, and even without a partnership with the Likud. Which will save the need for rotation and allow Gantz to serve for a full 4 years. But as the idea appealed to the blue-and-white heads, when they returned to reality, they were left with the question of how to help the storm at all.

A proposal that came up was to brief journalists for him. But this idea is also considered problematic. In white and blue they saw that the media was mostly recruited for the sake of Sa'ar. So their intervention can do more harm than good in the end.
