The Iraqi parliament failed to pass a new parliamentary election law.

Council member Raad Hussein told SANA correspondent in Baghdad that the withdrawal of some lawmakers from the session on voting for the law violated the quorum, and it was not possible to proceed with voting on the articles of the law.

Hussein expected that the next session will witness on Monday the vote on the bill.

It is noteworthy that the dispute between the parliamentary blocs revolves around Articles 15 and 16, which relate to the distribution of electoral districts in each governorate and their number, how to count the votes of the voters and the mechanisms of winning and losing.
