The Iraqi parliament approved today a new law for the country's legislative elections.
The Alsumaria News website quoted an Iraqi parliamentary source as saying that Parliament voted in its 24th session of the first legislative term on the Law of Elections to Parliament.
The source added that the law includes 50 articles that were voted on individually, taking into account the sequence, pointing to the abolition of some paragraphs during the voting.
It is noteworthy that a dispute between the parliamentary blocs was centered around Articles 15 and 16, which relate to the distribution of electoral districts in each governorate and their number, how to count the votes of the voters and the mechanisms of winning and losing.
