Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that the unilateral withdrawal of the United States of America from international understandings threatens international peace and security, noting that US sanctions against his country are considered economic terrorism.
Rouhani said during his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo today that Washington's withdrawal from the nuclear agreement signed with Iran has damaged peace and friendly political relations between countries, stressing that his country will continue its efforts to maintain the agreement within the framework of securing its interests and welcomes any efforts made by Countries to maintain it, calling on the other parties to the nuclear agreement to fulfill their obligations towards it.
Rouhani pointed to the good and historical relations between Iran and Japan, stressing the need to strengthen them in all fields.
For his part, the Japanese Prime Minister affirmed his country's support for the nuclear agreement and that it will continue its efforts in this field, announcing the start of Japan's cooperation with three European countries in this regard.
