Beirut - Sana

The Lebanese army reopened some of the roads that were blocked by protesters today in a number of Lebanese regions.

The Lebanese Army Command said in a statement that the army reopened the Beirut Soft Road towards the south of Lebanon after being cut for a long time by protesters, as it worked to open the Beirut Jiyyeh Sidon road to the south and removed the protesters who blocked the road by cars and trucks since morning.

The statement added that during a patrol by the army to reopen the Naameh road to facilitate the movement of movement, a number of protesters threw stones at the patrol members, which forced the soldiers to fire in the air and use tear gas to disperse them, indicating that the road was partially opened and the patrol is working to completely reopen it .

In the Corniche Al-Mazraa district in Beirut, 7 soldiers were injured after being stoned by stone throwers, some of whom tried to unload a truckload of earthworks and dirt in the middle of the road to block it and obstruct the movement of citizens. The army units deployed in the place worked to open the road and restore the situation to normal.

The statement pointed out that the army units are working to open a highway in Halba at the junction of the town of Sheikh Muhammad after it was closed with dust.
