The amount of cotton marketed from the eastern region to Mahlej in Homs, Hama and Aleppo reached about 56 thousand tons of cotton, of which more than 48 thousand tons from Al-Hasakah Governorate, 6 thousand tons from Deir Ezzor and 1500 tons from Al-Raqqa.
Eng. Zahir Al-Atal, Director General of the General Corporation for Cotton Ginning and Marketing, stated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin to start supplying ginned cotton to the public and private spinning and weaving factories in addition to supplying seeds to the public oil factories, pointing to the continuation of the process of receiving beloved cottons from farmers in all the producing governorates with the exception of Aleppo And Hama, in which the receiving process ended, while the supply of the production of the governorates of Deir Al-Zour, Hassakeh and Raqqa continues naturally and without any significant obstacles through the specified reception centers in Raqqa and Deir Al-Zour, which are transferred at the expense of the institution to the ginships in the area Central and Aleppo.
And the porter indicated that the quantities received amounted to more than 59 thousand tons of cotton since the start of the season out of 70 thousand expected to be received, an increase of about 13 thousand tons over the same period last season, indicating that the prices of the delivered cottons will be paid within a period of 72 hours from the start of delivery through Agricultural banks in all producing regions except for the governorates of Raqqa and Hasaka, whose farmers' dues are disbursed in the banks of the governorate of Hama, pointing to the transfer of 23 billion pounds to banks as a price for marketed cotton.
