Four injured in knife attack in southern Paris

(CNN) - Four people were injured in a knife attack in Villejuif, a commune in southern Paris, told Lof Travers, secretary of the National Police Alliance for the Ile-de-France region, on Friday.

Travers said the attack took place around 2pm local time (8am ET). The suspect, described only as a man, has already been "neutralized."

The Police Prefecture tweeted: “A police intervention is ongoing. Avoid the area. "
