The Recruitment Command ensures that you have received “multiple calls and emails” about these messages. "We want to make sure that Americans understand that they are false," he says.

The US attack with a drone that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in Iraq last Thursday has caused a tension that has caused fear of a possible war. The Department of Defense has also announced the dispatch of 3,000 soldiers to the Middle East, which has raised concerns about possible forced recruitment.

The recruitment system was last used in 1973, when the incorporation into the Army became voluntary. Currently, all men between 18 and 25 are required by law to submit their personal information to the SSS.

In the event of an emergency where more soldiers are required, explains the SSS, Congress must approve the call and the president must sign a law to make the enlistment mandatory.

Only then does a lottery system randomly select young people based on their date of birth, starting with those who turn 20 in the year in which the call is made. If necessary, the system incorporates those who are 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 years old.
