Washington - Sana
Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House will vote tomorrow on a draft resolution on the powers of war aimed at limiting President Donald Trump's actions regarding Iran, after a statement provided to members that did not dispel concerns about the administration’s strategy and decisions.
"The US House of Representatives will press ahead with legislation on war powers aimed at curbing President Donald Trump's actions regarding Iran," Pelosi said in a statement, according to Reuters.
It is scheduled to vote on the draft resolution in the specialized committee in the House of Representatives in preparation for referring it to a vote before the Council tomorrow.
Pelosi renewed her criticism of Trump for the order he issued last week to assassinate General Qassem Soleimani.
Pelosi said: "This act has endangered our soldiers, diplomats, and citizens because it has risked a dangerous escalation of tension with Iran" at a time when Trump has shown that "he has no coherent strategy" in this regard.
Pelosi called earlier today for the American administration to stop provocative practices against other countries, noting that the United States and the world cannot afford the consequences of a new war.
