The Patriarchate of Antioch and the entire East of the Syriac Orthodox held today a reception for the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Damascus on the occasion of the new Gregorian calendar at the St. George’s Patriarchate Syriac Orthodox Cathedral in Damascus.
His Holiness, Patriarch Avram II thanked the heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions who stayed in Syria during the years of the crisis for standing by Syria and its people and supporting their countries for the steadfastness of the Syrians, pointing out that the victories that were achieved against terrorism thanks to the unity of the Syrian people and the bravery of its army and its steadfastness and cooperation with friends, especially Russia and Iran.
Patriarch Avram II concluded by affirming that the Syrian people want peace and security for the whole world and that no one should cower the fire of terrorism despite the fact that some Western governments have supported terrorism and brought harm and harm to this people and their homeland.
Al-Miqdad pointed out that Syria is moving with confident steps on its path to a final victory, and it highly appreciates the support of friendly peoples who stood by its side in its war against terrorism, noting that Syria is on a date with new achievements for its army during the coming weeks and months to reach a complete victory.
And Al-Miqdad indicated that Syria is heading towards reconstruction despite all the disturbances due to the inhuman and coercive measures imposed by the United States of America and some European countries to harm the Syrian people and break their resolve, pointing out that as they failed in the field, they will fail again and what are these unilateral coercive measures they impose but evidence of Their brutality and primitiveness, because they did not succeed in breaking the will of the Syrian people.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Jawad Turk Abadi, expressed his hope that the coming days in Syria will be full of victories, and that the new year will be the year of the end of this crisis that afflicted the Syrian people, stressing that the martyrs are the outposts of the pride and dignity of the peoples, and their sacrifices will triumph for nations and pave the way for good and peace.
The Chargé d'Affaires of the South African embassy in Damascus, Barry Gilder, affirmed that the peoples are victorious by the sacrifices, and the Syrian people have resisted in the face of terrorism, and that their sacrifices will produce victory, and peace and security will return to Syria.
Dr. Niran Shaker Hashem Al-Nuaimi, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Iraqi embassy in Damascus, confirmed that the terrorism that Syria, Iraq and the region suffered from, failed to achieve its goals, and the Syrian and Iraqi people must win against it.
