At about 4 pm yesterday (17th), a black private car left St. John's Ambulance Station on Tianping Road, Sheung Shui, lost control and shoveled on the sidewalk, injuring nine people. On-site news said that a 31-year-old male teacher of Li Zhida Memorial School was leading a group of third-year students to walk back to school after performing track and field sports at a nearby sports ground. The male teacher was knocked down with 8 students and one male student was involved. The car was injured and the neighbour rescued him.

Police said the 43-year-old female driver, Chen, drove out of control at No. 28 Tianping Road, Sheung Shui, crossed the opposite line and shoveled a pedestrian road and hit nine people. The female driver was arrested for "dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm to another person" and has been released on bail pending investigation. She must report to the police in early February. The Government Information Office said that as of yesterday (17) at 7:12 pm, There were nine wounded in the incident, including an 8-year-old boy in critical condition, 2 men and 1 woman in serious condition, and 4 men and 1 woman in stable condition.
