A huge embarrassment to Facebook, the company's translation software translated the name of Chinese President Xi Jinping from the Burmese language to English so that his English translated name was: Mr. Shithole, or in Hebrew "Mr. Stool Pit".

The embarrassing incident happened after the Chinese president made a visit to Myanmar and met with a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and the country's advisory director of the Ong San Suu Kyi regime. The two discussed China's aid to Myanmar's development and at the end of the important political meeting, Ong San Suu Chi posted on it in her Burmese language Facebook account.

The Facebook translation algorithm translated the words of the senior Myanmar politician from Burmese to English and the name of the Chinese president as Mr. Shithole, something that has caused a huge embarrassment for the company that quickly issued an official apology. "We immediately fixed our translator from Burmese to English and such a fault will never happen again. This case in no way represents the way our products operate. And we are very sorry for the incident that the translator created."

Later, apparently when Facebook understood the magnitude of the injury, another apology was issued to the Chinese president, saying "We have fixed this mistake. It should not have happened at all and we are acting that it is no longer happening in any way and we sincerely apologize for the aggression created."

It should be noted that this is a specific problem for the translator within Facebook because a similar operation with the Google Burmese to English translation algorithm did not achieve this embarrassing result but the translator presented the full and true name of the Chinese president.
