British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed their commitment to the nuclear agreement signed with Iran.

Reuters reported that a British government spokeswoman indicated in a statement that, regarding Iran, Johnson and Macron agreed after their meeting on the sidelines of the international conference on Libya in Berlin today on the importance of not escalating and working with international partners to find a diplomatic solution to face the current tension.

Iran and the "five plus one" group reached on the 14th of July 2015 the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, but US President Donald Trump announced on the eighth of May 2018 the withdrawal of the United States from the agreement adopted by the Security Council in Resolution No. 2231.
