Participants in the Berlin conference on Libya stressed the need not to interfere in the internal affairs of this country and that the solution to the crisis in it is through a comprehensive political process.

The closing statement of the conference, which was signed by about 16 countries and organizations, said that the conference participants stressed international efforts to strengthen control of the arms embargo to Libya and the disarmament of militias, calling on all parties to distance themselves from the groups included in the United Nations list of terrorism.

And Libya has witnessed since the NATO aggression against it in 2011, a state of security chaos and the proliferation of armed militias and terrorist organizations in various regions, especially in the capital Tripoli, according to the Libyan army’s assurances led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

Meanwhile, German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced that the participants in the Berlin conference stressed that there is no military solution to the crisis in Libya and the need to reach a solution through a political process, saying that the results of the conference "represent a new political beginning and a push to support the United Nations efforts to bring peace to Libya."

"We had very serious and intensive consultations, and we were able to contribute to the political process in Libya and give it a new impetus under the auspices of the United Nations," Merkel said during her reading of the closing statement.

Merkel indicated that the participants in the Berlin conference adopted a package of documents that includes a "comprehensive plan" to settle the crisis in Libya and stresses that its solution can only be through political means, while German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas considered that the participants achieved the goals for which the conference was held.

For his part, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that the participants in the conference stressed the need to solve the crisis in Libya by political means and not to interfere in its internal affairs.

Guterres called on all parties to abide by Security Council resolutions related to the arms embargo to Libya and return to the political process.

For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron, head of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, demanded the cessation of sending groups of mercenary terrorists from northern Syria to Libya and said, "This matter must stop."

The Libyan army, led by Field Marshal Hifter, recently confirmed the Turkish regime’s chief’s move of weapons and multinational terrorists to Libya to fight alongside the Al-Wefaq government led by Fayez al-Sarraj.

The Berlin conference on Libya was launched earlier today, with the aim of strengthening the ceasefire and preparing the ground for a peace process.
