The international conference on Libya began today in Berlin, Germany, with the aim of strengthening the ceasefire and preparing the ground for a peace process.

German media reported that the conference, held under the auspices of the United Nations, is attended by representatives of 11 countries, which are the five permanent members of the Security Council Russia, the United States, Britain, France and China, in addition to Egypt, Italy, the Turkish system, Algeria, the Emirates and the Congo, in addition to the organizing country Germany and several international organizations.

With the end of the conference later today, it is scheduled to issue a joint statement requesting a cessation of foreign interference and respect for the arms embargo to Libya.

"The conference could be a first step for peace in Libya," German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas told Bild newspaper.

On the sidelines of the conference, the headquarters of the German Consultation witnessed the venue of demonstrations organized today by Libyan citizens, Arabs and German human rights organizations, refusing to enter the Turkish regime in Libya, where protesters raised banners saying "Erdogan sends mercenaries and terrorists to Tripoli".

Libya has been witnessing since the NATO aggression against it in 2011, a state of chaos and lawlessness in light of the proliferation of weapons and terrorist organizations that are trying to impose their influence and control on various cities and regions, while the authorities are currently fighting two main parties: the Al-Wefaq government led by Fayez al-Sarraj and the parallel government operating in eastern Libya Supported by the House of Representatives in Tobruk and the Libyan army led by Field Marshal Khalifa Hifter.

The situation in Libya was further aggravated recently by the arrival of groups of mercenary terrorists sent by the Turkish regime from northern Syria to Libya.
