Egyptian President Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi emphasized on Saturday the consistency of the Egyptian stance towards the Palestinian issue and its solution, which will establish an independent and sovereign state in Judea and Samaria and Gaza, and according to international and legitimate decisions.

This was stated in a statement released by the Egyptian presidential spokesman following a meeting with al-Sisi with Abu Mazen, in his Cairo palace. "In the end, there is no alternative to direct talks between the parties to the conflict until it is possible to proceed to a mutually agreed-upon arrangement that will endanger it. This will end the suffering of the Palestinian people in restoring all their rights and preserving the rights of all parties in life and security and stability and peace," the official statement said.

The Egyptian president emphasized that his country is still at the forefront of countries seeking a comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East region. "Egypt has accepted coexistence peacefully and has rejected violence as a strategic and consistent method in its policy for more than forty years," he noted.

Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal Farhan said during the Arab League conference that the Palestinian issue is the first issue in the Arab kingdom's foreign policy, and it still supports it. "Peace efforts should focus on progress toward a just solution, which will include restoring the rights of the Palestinian people."

Bahrain's Foreign Minister said: "We appreciate the plan that Trump has been promoting and look forward to examining, learning the positive things about it and working to start direct talks between the parties." Minister Khalid bin Ahmed added in his address at a conference in Cairo that he "endorses the consistent electoral position on the Palestinian issue, and its assistance in all efforts aimed at progress towards a comprehensive and just solution." He emphasized the need for the establishment of a Palestinian state on the border of 67 in which East Jerusalem is its capital.
